Flying Monkeys GT

Our town had it's very own 40k GT last weekend that i decided to go on ahead and participate in. I came in 38th place but i did get best Astra Militarum player and won a F.A.T Mat though so it was well worth. I took some pictures of my games but not a lot since i was more focused on playing then recording the event.

My Astra list was as follows,

CAD
  • Pask in a punisher with multimeltas and a demolisher
  • 7 Scions with 2 plasma guns
  • 1 vet squad with a power sword, 2 melta guns, heavy flamer and carapace
  • 1 Vet squad with 3 plasma guns and carapace armor
  • Wyvern squadron

Emperores Blade
  • Company Command Squad with power maul, wrath of Cadia, 2 plasma guns, and carapce in a chimera
  • Vet squad with power maul, 3 plasma guns, and carapace in a Taurox
  • 2 Vet squads each with power maul, 2 melta, heavy flamer, and carapace in a Taurox
  • Banewolf with dozer blade
Voidshield generator with 3 shields

1850pts

Game one i was put up against Imperial Knights with some Grey Knight buddies. Which meant my first few turns weren't great because i couldn't really touch the big knights and when the little knights arrived he rolled armor and invul saves like a boss. I had a small glimmer of hope when he moved off his objective and i held mine but he realized his mistake and was able to retake his objective because our game went into turn six and we drew it out as a result but he won the maelstrom.

I was really hoping game 2 might go better since i was playing the guy who lost his first match but goddamn Knights again. Then pair that up with Khorne demons who get points every time something dies for summoning I must blown his units off the relic 3 separate times but he just summoned more right on top of it and had characters with wargear that let them bullseye deepstrikes. By the end of that game I had 2 veterans left on the board.

I forgot to take pictures of game 3 because of how caught up in how tremendously well i was doing. I was put up against orks with a stompa, 2 battlewagons, a truk and some foot gretchin. the first few turns i blew away the gretchin, the truck, and the unit in the truck. By that time the stompa was in my face put 2 turns of Pask rending away at it and firing his meltas finally brought the beast down and the explosion scattered back onto a battlewagon and exploded the battlewagon. 3 orks survived the stompa explosion, became pinned and then were toasted by a veteran with a heavy flamer. By that point it was mop up and i wound up tableing the orks.

Game 4 i had the dubious honor of playing against a destroyer cult, about the only thing good was that i won the maelstorm with only a handful of dudes.

I didn't take pictures of game 5 either. It was against raven wing bike and i accidentally left a gap for the to outflank behind my voidshield with a meltagun unit who then destroyed the voidshield. I was tabled from there.

Game 6 was against white scars in drop pods. Drop pod armies are the only thing i hate to fight as much as necrons because it doesn't feel like theres' a whole lot of defense against it. Fortunately he scattered backwards on almost every pod so turn one a grav gun unit was inside my shield and killed Pask and turn 2 a new grav gun unit took their place after the first died turn 1. I lost pask and most of my transports but i obliterated the space marines as they charged hopelessly towards the voidshield hoping to get inside and do damage.

More IG armor

With the release of the Mont'ka book my local 40k group managed to drag me back in so I've been painting up some Russes to use in the Emperor's fist and a hellhound for the Emperor's Blade.

First up I have "Pask" in the command punisher Bolter Boat

Joining "pask" is the tooled up executioner Le' Steph II

I built and painted two vanquishers but I'll probably only use one in the formation, but here are Xeno Slayer and Akilla in all their glory.

And lastly is my hellhound, I'm not sure what to name him yet but I'm sure I'll think of something tacky and flame related that'll be perfect.

Laser Guns and Dinosaurs

Just finished a project I started on for my IG years ago, dinosaur riding rough riders. Hailing from the planet Seamusia, the First Semusian Lancers a long and noble history. When not engaged in campaigns with the various regiments of Seamusia they are guarding the royal palaces of the ruling nobles. Many of the riders have had their arms replaced with robotics in order to make themselves more accurate when firing on the ride. All their weapons are handcrafted by techpriests who manage the planet's manufactorums so that their weapons may match their stature as elite troops of Seamusia.

Armored Fist

I've been on a kick recently to work on some of my IG stuff despite the fact i seldom play 40k anymore. Guess it's because I've put so much into converting them that they will always have a soft spot in my heart. Anyway, without further ado here is my converted chimera and its plasma vet squad.
