Painting Viet Minh 75mm RCL

Here is a step by step process to paint Redstar's Vietnamese 75mm recoilless rifle team. Vallejo paints are from the model color range unless otherwise stated.

Clean up and prime grey.

Vallejo basic skin tone on all skin

 Vallejo Khaki on the uniform

Citadel Loren Forest for the 75, backpacks, and satchels

Citadel Boltgun Metal for the MAT 49, and Vallejo Game Color Bonewhite for belts, canvas and weapon straps.

Vallejo Game Color Offwhite for the rice bowls

Vallejo Black for sandals, Citadel Mournfang Brown for canteens, Citadel Castellan Green for shovels

Tamiya Cockpit Green for helmet covers and Citadel Camo Green for helmet foliage

Vallejo Game Color Sepia ink wash, watered down a bit

Mount the figures on their bases accordingly, I've decided to replace the pointing crewman with a different figure so that i can use pointing guy as an NCO in another squad.

For my basing I cover the base with Citadel sand then paint over it Citadel Gorthor Brown

I can't tell you what grass flock i use as it's my roommate's mix and he's forgotten what all he mixed in it but just about any static grass will look good.

French 75mm RCL

My French and Viet Minh 75mm teams arrived in the mail yesterday and i am super excited. Feels like I've been waiting forever and a day for them to arrive. I decided I wanted to build the French firing team first so thats what i opened.

Pretty simple, i usually hate trying to put together weapons like this but the assembly was rather smooth and clean up had been easy so no complaints there. Paul Hicks has done a great job sculpting this range, so much so I have to constantly resist the strong urge to throw money at Redstar Miniatures for more figures. Good looking sculpts that paint up rather nicely, here's my finished team, I didn't do a step by step painting guide for them but i might for the other teams.
